Lot of Work Ahead

Acute observers would note that I actually had an article set-up going here for awhile, where I would publish new articles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Unfortunately acute observers would also note that I haven’t written anything in a week!

I’ve really just had a lot of other work stuff that’s been taking priority when I am in the mood to work. I’ve also been working with my coder Frank on “AB 2.0” – basically taking this current design to the next level, and optimizing it so I can make mad bucks.

I don’t know about you – but when I plan out a new design or an upgrade to a website – I find it really hard to actually do any work on improving that website until said design/upgrade is actually implemented. Annoying for sure. You know I still haven’t went through getting the AB backlinks updated from PAB? Ugh. Despite that AB is doing 300+ uniques per day which is great.

I also launched my first website since January 2010. Yep, I went that long without launching a website. This is a nice simple tips site to go with my other tips sites – it’s Golf Betting Tips. Same template and style as all my other tips sites because hey – why fix what isn’t broken?

I’ve also got two new websites in the pipeline, both non-gaming. There is virtually no competition for these websites and I think they should be good earners, so I’m excited for both of them. Unfortunately I don’t want to write about them at this time in case anyone steals my ideas! However as soon as they are launched I’ll let you know.

I’m also working on upgrading some of my older sites. Here’s work we have pencilled in for the next few months for some of my sites:

Casino Answers:
Add a news section, and one other top secret section which I can’t mention!
Ultimate Poker Guide: Merge with Casino Answers.
Ultimate Casino Guide: Merge with Casino Answers.
Internet Bingo Zone: Complete Revamp.
Buy DVDs For Sale: This site gets really good hits even though I haven’t worked on it in awhile. We’re going to implement an automated process for deals.
Rakeback Resource: Huge revamp of the URL structure, more SEF, switch to a CMS.

As you can see – busy times ahead. Next couple of weeks are going to be crazy too with March Madness, March Break(so both kids at home!!!) and Cheltenham.

With all that work ahead, it’s time to have some relaxation first. I’m off to play some XBox….I’m getting close to a 100k gamerscore!

  • After reading the post. I have to say strangly the thing I found most impressive was the 100k gamer score on the XBox. lol.

And if you have fight night champion I’ll need to get your gamer tag. So I can kick you

Good Luck with the new site(s).

Yeah I usually have it on while doing work and play it at the same time as I am working.

Don’t have Fight Night Champion yet. I loved Fight Night 3 but wasn’t a big fan of Fight Night 4. Also have a pile of 40+ games to play so no new games for awhile.

Gamertag is DealerDan if you want to add me. FYI often it’s not me on it as my kids play it.

  • Good luck with the golf site! I’ve got my second buddy into the industry with his own golf site… he follows the PGA religiously and does well betting it, so I am hoping he will keep up with the site.

Seems like the market isn’t huge, but not much competition.

  • Dealer Dan

Thanks Kev. I could see Golf punters being easier to convert because of the difference in odds. Hard to get someone to switch sportsbooks due to -108 over -110, but a lot easier to get someone to switch from 100/1 to a 150/1 Line.

So far the signup rate is great – over 80% which I’m very happy with.

  • Nice Dan,

I am thinking about creating a network of niche sport sites (like golf) but for russian market. Russian webmasters didnt go niches so far…

  • When you say sign up rate is over 80% what exactly do you mean?

  • Dealer Dan

Visitors->Sign Up Ratio. 80% of all visitors have subscribed to the mailing list.

  • Ah ok, thought so – was making sure you didn’t mean signing up for a sportsbooks (that would be insane).

But still 80% of your uniques signing up for the mailing list is still crazy. I’ll have to take a look at how you do things more closely (highest I get from picks sites is like 8-10%.

  • Dealer Dan

I haven’t been getting any longtail keyword hits or anything like that though to dilute the ratio – it’s mostly for “golf betting tips” and “golf betting picks”. So the conversion rates are kind of like getting hits for “party poker bonus code” or whatever
